Kobus Ellis moved from Cape Town to Robertson in 2005 and open his own Architectural firm VIGLIETTI ELLIS ARCH which he ran with his wife Annemarie, who passed away in 2018 due to cancer. After 36 years in the Architectural profession he decided to start painting in 2021 to bring out his feelings. He loves to do Abstract and Landscape paintings. He never had any formal training in Art, only the little bit when he studied Architecture.

Kobus is also a professional guitarist and singer which he did from 1987 for 15 years with his own band. He also does a little bit of jewellery design and making it himself.
