A variety of ceramic creations
I am so grateful to have a ceramic studio called StudioUno in my own clay cob home, which I designed and built in mc Gregor in 2006.
I loved playing with clay since my childhood and I still play with clay daily, creating functional pottery to light up your heart and to brighten up your home. Now, its over 50 years since I matriculated from The Art, Ballet, Drama and Music School in Johannesburg in 1985. This is where my formal training began to ignite my passion for ceramics. Then I became totally hooked on sculpture and mold making at Michaelis uct in 1986. Later in life, I worked with some wonderful Greek ceramic artists in Greece for 5 years. I painted all the pottery for the Greek film series Troy in 2015. And I also love hosting workshops for beginners and children to help build and refine their skills and passion for claywork and glazing techniques. All these wonderful opportunities and constant development of my technical skills enable me to achieve self expression in clay with endless opportunities for exploration and imagination with form and texture and experimenting with the magnificent alchemy of colour glazing techniques and artistic rendering. I am always excited to create cups. My customers develop a close relationship to their personal choice of cups. Everyday is a celebration to fill your cup to the brim with love and compassion!
